Top Customization Products

Individuality rules. Who wants to be like everyone else? Who wants their vehicle to look like every other vehicle? People are enviably looking for ways to express their style through ever more popular expression vehicle customization. It is not uncommon for people today to purchase a vehicle and almost immediately head from the dealership to a shop to give it a unique look. Apex Customs would like to introduce you to some of the most common vehicle customization options.

Wheels

A new set of shoes wheels is the ultimate way to change the look of [T1] your vehicle. You can either opt for a full new set or coat the existing wheels on your vehicle. An off-road wheel and tire for a jeep or perhaps 22’s for your Charger are surefire ways to give your vehicle a unique new look in one simple step.

De-Chrome/Paint Match

Remember when chrome was awesome? Well, that was years ago. Now no one wants chrome, yet vehicle dealers keep adding it anyway. Yes, especially for upgraded packages, manufacturers still dump a bunch of chrome on vehicles. At Apex we spend a lot of time getting rid of chrome, “de-chroming” vehicles to turn the chrome either black or body painted. The most popular items to de-chrome are the window trim of luxury cars such as Teslas and the chrome bumpers of pickup trucks. There are several ways we do this at Apex. Depending on the chrome component, we can paint, wrap or powder coat.

Window Tint

A window tint not only adds to a vehicle’s look, but also protects you from sun and heat. That’s why it’s one of the most popular vehicle upgrades. Especially in our desert climate, it is imperative to use a good film such as 3m or SunTek to provide the best possible UV/heat protection. These products also give your vehicle a high-quality custom look.

Clear Bra or Ceramic Coating

Known by many names—such as clear bra, invisible shield and PPF (Paint Protection Film)—adding one of these products is essential for your vehicle. They add no aesthetic value, but they keep your paint protected from rock chips[T2] and scraches. When I buy a new vehicle, I drive right to the shop to get this done because I know I would regret even one rock chip if I wait. This isn’t the most “fun” product, but for adding value and keeping your vehicle looking good for years, it’s a no-brainer.

Audio

Manufacturers have stepped up their game, so improvements to your vehicle’s audio system are not as necessary as they once were. Still, there’s always room for improvement. Basic audio systems are greatly impacted by a custom package, but even if you have a premium system, there are tweaks that can be made, such as adding some bass as part of a new sub or speaker upgrade.

Caliper Paint or Powder Coat

A surefire way to ruin the look of your new set of wheels is to have a bare, metallic-looking silver set of calipers behind them. Adding any color or logo option to style your calipers will really set your vehicle apart. This is why Brembo pays so much attention to gorgeous color schemes. This will truly be one of the options you will appreciate the most, even if you don’t realize it now.

These are just a few of the most popular options to be considered. It’s amazing what a difference a couple of simple additions to a vehicle can make. Afterward, you may think, I don’t know what is so great about the car, but I love it. You may choose a subtle look, or the look that turns heads going down the road. Whatever your choose, it’s important to remember that we all work hard for what we have, so there’s nothing wrong with making a couple of improvements to your vehicle to make it…well…you.
